According to their own words, De Beren has been a household name in Rotterdam for many years and they are also gaining more and more ground outside of it. With more than 70 branches throughout the country, the restaurant – which opened in 1984 – has since grown into a successful catering formula consisting of restaurants and delivery locations. Marjolein Mens, marketing manager at De Beren: ‘The past year was also challenging for us, but we did not give up. We have worked hard with a team on campaigns for the near future and the European Championship campaign is first on the list. For this campaign, we are working together for the first time with two celebrities and we are expanding our means of communication to national television. No advertising agency was involved here. A campaign we are already proud of!”
From June 7, the spot can be seen primetime on Ned 1, 2 and 3 around the European Championship matches. In the spot, the exclusive De Beren Orange Burger is promoted by John de Wolf and Sierd de Vos. GIG creative film production was responsible for the complete video concept of the commercial.
It’s no coincidence that the ad goes live on June 7. The restaurants really open their doors on June 5th. The Oranje Burger is central to the European Championship campaign, of which the TV commercial is a part. It was invented by chef Sander van Waas. As a football supporter in heart and soul, he has been a big fan of John de Wolf since he was a little boy. It is therefore a dream that the former Dutch national team player stands behind his creation.
