Albron strengthens concept portfolio with the acquisition of Coffeecompany

The takeover is part of a broader ambition to continue to grow as a foodservice organization that gives direction to the market.

Coffeecompany was founded in 1996 as a specialist coffee chain in Amsterdam. After significant growth in locations, JDE Peet’s left the chain at the end of 2011. Coffeecompany now has its own roastery in Amsterdam and 31 branches in Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Groningen, Leiden, Rotterdam and Delft. Each with a unique place nearby. Of these, Coffeecompany operates 24 locations under its own management and 7 under a franchise license. In March 2021, Albron opened its first Coffeecompany as a licensee in Mall of the Netherlands in Leidschendam. This pleasant first collaboration led to discussions about the takeover.

Firmer position in high traffic locations
The intended acquisition is in line with Albron’s new course, which is aimed at further growth. Coffeecompany’s national distribution gives Albron an even stronger position at high traffic locations. Since 2016, Albron has grown strongly in, for example, shopping centers and city centers with its own concepts and street brands such as Anne&Max and Le Perron. With the addition of Coffeecompany, Albron is strategically expanding its concept portfolio. Within Albron, Coffeecompany continues its activities under its own brand name and identity. Albron will take over all Coffeecompany employees and will also continue the franchise activities within Coffeecompany unchanged.

Another 18 Coffeecompany branches
