How an initiative aims to break the power of housing corporations

Thousands of people push their way through the streets of Berlin-Neukölln and Kreuzberg in mid-April, some of them hold up posters, in bold black letters a banner reads “Expropriate, socialize, self-manage”. It can be seen on a video from the Berlin newspaper “Tagesspiegel”. All of these people, they seem angry. Angry about the decision of the Federal Constitutional Court to tip the rent cover. Because in case of doubt, this decision means: high back payments. Money that many don’t have.
