The Nasdaq-100® index opened above the 12,925 point mark on the first trading day of the new trading year. However, the index was unable to sustain this outbreak and was rather sold off sharply in further Monday trading. After an interim recovery, there are signs of further taxes for today’s start of trading. The intermediate low at 12,537 points serves as a support. There, buyers have to stabilize the index in order to be able to continue the overall upward trend. If the Nasdaq-100® index falls below this mark, it is likely to extend the consolidation in terms of time and price. A suitable target in this case is the breakout level at 12,439 points, an extreme target from a short-term perspective is waiting at a good 12,200 points.

The area around 12,800 points emerged as the resistance zone in yesterday’s trading. Only a recapture of this price range would improve the situation for buyers. With over 12,925 points, the way would ultimately be free for the rally to continue.
