A subsidiary of Schaltbau, Pintsch from Dinslaken, has received a pilot order from the high-speed program “Digital Rail Germany”. The client is DB Netz AG. Financial details are not disclosed.
The railway wants to equip the route network in Germany with new control and safety technology and digital interlockings. This should increase rail capacities by 20 percent. You also want to be more punctual.
The order relates to a route network of 50 kilometers between the Grafling and Bayrisch Einstein stations. Functionality there should be achieved in September 2023.
CEO Albrecht Köhler on the pilot project: “This order represents an important milestone for Schaltbau Holding AG in the implementation of our growth strategy. With this, we are also positioning ourselves as the technology leader for the digitization of branch lines right from the start of the digitization of German rail traffic.”
Schaltbau is expecting further orders for digital level crossings in the coming year.
