K + S has received a new water law permit from the authorities for the Werra and Neuhof-Ellers plants from the Kassel government to discharge production wastewater into bodies of water. â € œThe new permit is initially limited to the end of 2021. A decision on the introduction in the years 2022-2027 will be made in the coming year after the new management plan has been adopted by the Weser river basin community, the company from Kassel said on Wednesday. A previous license expires at the end of the year.
â € œThe permit is good news for our employees in the Werra and Neuhof-Ellers plants. It shows that our extensive investments and measures to further relieve the burden on the environment are recognized, â € says Burkhard Lohr, CEO of K + S Aktiengesellschaft, and announces that we will “initiate further improvements”. Limitations on the discharge permit for production wastewater have recently caused production interruptions at the affected K + S plants several times due to the drought and low water levels in the Werra.
In the meantime, the analysts at Nord LB have confirmed their rather pessimistic assessment of the K + S share. It is true that in the context of a chemical industry study, a “hold” is awarded for the share of the raw materials company from Kassel. With a price target of 6.70 euros, however, a more pronounced decline in the MDAX price is expected: it is currently trading at 7.498 euros, the daily low and losing 0.98 percent compared to yesterday.
