Biotech company Novavax has appointed Rick Crowley to the newly created position of Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer. “In this role, Rick Crowley will take on management responsibility for all operational areas, including quality, production, supply chain and approval matters,” announced the company, which is working on a vaccine against the COVID-19 pandemic, among other things.
Crowley, most recently Executive Vice President, Technical Operations at TerSera Pharmaceuticals, succeeds Ben Machielse, who will work at Novavax as Executive Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer.
“Rick’s rich history in biopharmaceuticals and his track record of getting FDA clearances come at just the right time to ensure Novavax meets its global manufacturing and supply commitments,” said Stanley C. Erck, President and Chief Executive Officer of Novavax.
