Hawesko have forecast for 2020 due to a booming online business. In operational terms, the wine retailer now expects a profit of between 39 million euros and 42 million euros for the current year, compared to the forecast that was raised to 33 million euros in November. “The strong growth trend caused by COVID-19 in the B2C retail and e-commerce segments is also unbroken in the Christmas business,” the Hamburg-based company reported on Tuesday. According to Hawesko, the development will significantly overcompensate for the corona-related decline in B2B sales to the catering and hotel industry. The aim is to increase sales to more than 600 million euros.
“We benefit from a very dynamic online business. This trend, which has been observable since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, has increased significantly in the current Christmas business, ”says HAWESKO CEO Thorsten Hermelink.
In 2019, the group achieved sales of 556 million euros and an operating profit of 29 million euros.
