Akasol announces a new order with a volume in the mid double-digit million euro range. The manufacturer of lithium-ion battery systems has signed a long-term framework agreement with the largest Turkish commercial vehicle manufacturer. “From 2021 to 2025, the company will supply the second and third generation of its high-energy battery systems for an existing and a new type of bus belonging to the customer, thereby expanding its customer portfolio,” said Akasol. For the Darmstadt-based company, the order means entry into the Turkish market.
Akasol boss Sven Schulz said on Thursday that the framework agreement had prevailed against strong European and Chinese competition. “The fact that the framework agreement already includes the transition to our new ultra-high-energy battery system is a great sign of confidence in our extensive expertise in the field of high-performance Li-ion batteries and shows that we are now another global customer as a strategically reliable partner for the sees rapid electrification of his portfolio ”, says Schulz.
