The prospect of another US corona aid package gave the stock markets a tailwind at times. However, the bulls were not strong enough to break out of the sideways trend of the past few days. Rather, DAX® & Co had to give up part of their profits in the afternoon. The decisive impulse may come tomorrow when the ECB presents its package of Corona measures. There is also the chance of an amicable Brexit solution.

There were short-term significant fluctuations on the bond market. In the course of the day, however, the prices leveled off in a narrow range. The yield on 10-year Bunds stagnated at a very low level of minus 0.6 percent. In the US, yields rose again somewhat. In the case of precious metals, the bears took over the scepter today in the face of hopes for a US economic stimulus program. The gold price fell by around 30 US dollars to 1,840 US dollars and the silver price to 24 US dollars per troy ounce. The economic optimism was also reflected in a slight increase in the oil price. The price for a barrel of Brent Crude Oil was approaching the US $ 50 mark.

Company in focus

After yesterday’s fall, the share showed itself off ams today recovered significantly. Aurubis raised dividends after strong earnings growth. The share then rose to its highest level since May 2019. After recently good numbers reported Hapag Lloyd today that there could be bottlenecks in the cargo hold. The stock fell slightly today. ThyssenKrupp benefited from positive analyst comments. Among the sectors, the automotive sector stood out with above-average gains.

Tomorrow starts Airbnb to the stock exchange. Adobe and Oracle put numbers for the past quarter and TUI the data for the previous financial year. HelloFresh meanwhile invites you to investor day.
