Important preliminary decisions have been made at Daimler. Bernd Pischetsrieder is to become the new head of the supervisory board. The previous supervisory board boss Manfred Bischoff will vacate his post after the upcoming general meeting in March and leave the supervisory board. The 72-year-old Pischetsrieder has been a member of the Daimler Supervisory Board since 2014. He used to be CEO of BMW, among other things.
Pischetsrieder’s nomination does not come as a complete surprise. The former Daimler CEO Zetsche was actually intended for this position. However, after criticism from various sides, he has declared that he will not.
However, the analysts at Nord LB do not see a dawn in the times of digitization and e-mobility in the personnel. For them, the former BMW boss stands for the old world of internal combustion engines. The nomination of Shell CEO van Beurden for a supervisory board also caused astonishment. The area of electromobility is not covered by such proposals.
The analysts confirm the hold recommendation for the shares of Daimler. The price target increases from EUR 50.00 to EUR 54.00.
Daimler shares give way at noon by 0.3 percent. The papers of the car manufacturer are quoted at 57.32 euros.
