FinanceFWD podcast “In retrospect, we would be ashamed of the first product”

Bastian Krautwald, founder of DeineStudienfinanzierungVeemotion

So far, very few fintech start-ups have managed to reach young people. The average age is in their early 30s, with some investment products the customers are already over 50. Bastian Krautwald’s company is one of the few exceptions: With his start-up IhrStudienfinanzierung, his target group includes students who apply for a student loan via the portal Can request student loans.

The small team meanwhile wants to expand its product: Depending on the application, the Berlin fintech can arrange health insurance for the semester abroad, for example. Even after graduation, Krautwald plans to continue providing financial products to its customers via app in the future.

The start-up became known through an appearance on the TV show “Die Höhle der Löwen” (The Lions’ Den). Company Builder Finleap recently participated. In the podcast, Krautwald talked about the show as a marketing effect, good product development and the pressure as a founder.

In the FinanceFWD podcast, Krautwald talks about …

… the start during your studies
… his appearance at “Die Höhle der Löwen”
… the deal with Frank Thelen
… the next products from his fintech
… marketing for a young target group
… the pressure as a young founder
