Alcoa Ltd. paid for weeklong pilot test with FYI Resources – columns

According to their agreement (MOU) will be FYI Resources (ASX: FYI; FRA: SDL) and Alcoa Ltd. (NYSE: AA) conduct joint tests at FYI Resources’ HPA pilot facility in Welshpool, Western Australia, from mid-December. The existing pilot plant is currently being converted for the purpose of joint tests to enable important improvements in design and material handling. Alcoa will bear the costs for this.

Under the supervision of Alcoa, as in previous experiments, the pilot plant is to be operated continuously for one week at a rate of around 1 kg per hour. The commissioning of the apparatus and pilot plant cycle will begin shortly, and trial production is planned for the second week of December. The focus of the work is on improved production processes, which could possibly lead to a reduction in operating costs or investments.

In previous production testing attempts, HPA of excellent quality was obtained. This material is currently being tested by potential customers for its product suitability.
