The Gabonese subsidiary of the pan-African bank UBA has a new general manager, report internal sources of the group, this Monday, November 30. This is Uganda Onyekwelu who is replacing Chioma Mang, who will lead UBA Uganda.
This appointment comes at a time when UBA is engaged in a phase of expansion in Africa. It is in this sense that it has made many upheavals (permutations and appointments within its various subsidiaries) these days to accelerate the process.
Arrival at UBA Gabon in 2012, Eugenia Onyekwelu was appointed director of operations the same year. The manager has over 20 years of professional experience in the field of project management, among other things, banking operations.
Over the past few years, she has actively participated in the bank’s many strategic projects. Holder of a Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelor in Finance, the new boss of UBA, is presented as versatile in banking practices.
As a reminder, despite a difficult context marked by Covid-19, UBA recorded net banking income of 150 billion naira (391.6 million dollars) in the first half of 2020, up 5.6% compared to 2019.
