Every year Great Place to Work, in cooperation with “Fortune”, selects the best employers in the USA. The consulting firm, which certifies good working conditions in companies, also examined which internationally active companies are particularly recommendable for employees. A company from Germany made it into the top 10.
Best employer in the world
In order to be eligible for the 2020 ranking, companies had to be represented on five or more national “Best Workplace” lists from 2019, according to Great Place to Work. Apparently only customers of the consulting firm were assessed. In addition, at least 40 percent of the workforce (at least 5,000 employees) had to come from countries outside the company’s home country. Great Place to Work certifies workplaces according to these criteria:
- Trust (in the management)
- Pride (of the work and the company)
According to the ranking, these international corporations are the best employers in the world.

# 10 EY
The Wirecard scandal severely damaged the public image of EY’s auditors. However, the London-based company apparently enjoys a good reputation among its employees. It came in tenth in the Great Place to Work ranking of the best international employers. According to the information, 78 percent of the around 300,000 employees worldwide find: EY offers excellent working conditions. However, this value is well below the results of other companies in the top 10.
# 9 SAS
With an approval rate of 87 percent, the US tech company SAS landed in ninth place among the best employers worldwide. According to the analysis, more than 90 percent of the approximately 13,000 employees praised the company’s welcoming culture and thought they could take time off if necessary. Nine out of ten SAS employees were proud to work for the IT service provider from Cary, North Carolina.
# 8 Mercado Libre
The Argentine IT company Mercado Libre also received a lot of praise. 92 percent of the approximately 13,058 employees certified the company based in Buenos Aires to be a great employer, as announced by Great Place to Work. Mercado Libre was the only representative in the top 10 that was not from the US or Europe.

# 7 The Adecco Group
Three of the places in the top 10 went to Europe. The Adecco Group came in seventh with an overall approval rating of 86 percent. The company, based in Zurich, is one of the world’s largest providers of personnel services and reportedly employs around 45,000 people.

89 percent of the approximately 67,784 employees at Mars think: The working conditions are right at this company. This and other criteria resulted in the current Great Place to Work ranking of the best international employers in sixth place for the US food company.
# 5 Stryker
The US medical technology company Stryker took fifth place in the ranking. According to the information, 89 percent of the approximately 40,000 employees worldwide praised their employer.

# 4 Salesforce
It is already becoming apparent: the majority of the employers awarded the prize come from the USA, the home region of Great Place to Work. Fourth place went to Salesforce. According to the ranking, the provider of cloud computing solutions from San Francisco recently employed around 52,000 people worldwide. 93 percent of them praised the working conditions at Salesforce.

# 3 Hilton
According to Great Place to Work, most Hilton employees have no reason to complain. The US hotel chain with around 173,504 employees was able to show an approval rate of 91 percent in the ranking.

# 2 DHL Group
According to Great Place to Work, DHL Express is the best internationally active employer in Germany. The Bonn-based logistics company came in second with a satisfaction rate of 93 percent among the around 104,000 employees worldwide. DHL Express thus improved the previous year’s result by two places, as the group announced: “This year, DHL Express is listed in 42 national rankings of the best employers and has received the ‘Great Place to Work’ certification as an attractive employer in a further 17 countries. “

# 1 Cisco
According to the employer ranking 2020, Cisco offers the best working conditions among international corporations. According to Great Place to Work, the satisfaction rate of around 79,304 employees was 93 percent. The consulting company praised the good work culture at the IT group. Despite the massive increase in demand during the Corona crisis, they kept the work ethic high. In addition, the management team paid more attention to the worries of employees and initiated an internal debate about racism and discrimination.
