CompuGroup Medical announces a takeover. The purchase of all shares in eMDs, Inc., based in Austin, Texas, by the US subsidiary CompuGroup Holding USA was “one of the largest acquisitions in the company’s history,” said the TecDAX-listed company on Monday. The purchase price is estimated at around 203 million euros. In the 2019/2020 financial year, which ended in March 2020, eMDs achieved sales of 81 million euros and an adjusted EBITDA of around 12 million euros, according to the company’s announcement.
“EMDs’ main products are doctor information systems and outsourcing services for billing medical services. The US subsidiary of CompuGroup Medical is thus significantly strengthening its position and, after the acquisition, will become number 4 in the market for doctor information systems in the USA, ”said CompuGroup Medical. “The eMDs products fit perfectly into our existing portfolio,” says Frank Gotthardt, founder and CEO of CompuGroup Medical SE & Co. KGaA.
CompuGroup Medical expects to be able to complete the takeover in 2020.
