Dr. Oetker buys beverage delivery service in a bottle – for 1 billion euros?

The food company Dr. Oetker buys heavily: According to a report, the Bielefeld company puts one billion euros on the table for the beverage delivery service in a bottle.

The Oetker Group takes over the fast-growing beverage delivery service in a bottle. The Bielefeld family-owned company announced on Monday that the purchase contracts were signed a few days ago. According to information from the information service “Deutsche”, the purchase price is one billion euros. Oetker himself did not provide any information.

The Oetker Group strengthens its beverage division with the acquisition. The group includes, among other things, Germany’s largest brewery group Radeberger and the sparkling wine brands Henkell and Freixenet, as well as the delivery service Durstexpress.

The start-up Bottle Post, founded in 2016, claims that it now delivers drinks to customers in 23 cities within 120 minutes. A company spokesman emphasized that Oetker sees a very good future for online delivery services and has therefore decided to buy. The takeover has yet to be approved by the Federal Cartel Office.
