In addition, Allsafe is starting a pilot with the postal and parcel company whereby smaller web shops will compete with major players in terms of delivery times and can benefit from the expertise of PostNL E-Commerce Services. This capability will be rolled out across the rest of the country in spring 2021.
The collaboration initially starts with setting up a PostNL parcel point at every Allsafe location.
PostNL and Allsafe join forces to collect and ship parcels
The storage company will accept and distribute pre-franked PostNL parcels here, from both private individuals and business customers. “People no longer have to stay at home to receive their parcel and also have one fixed place where they can send parcels and returns,” says CEO of Allsafe, Eric Stubbé.
Offer packages until late at night
The company will also offer web shops the option to deliver their packages to Allsafe until late in the evening, after which PostNL will process them that same night. Stubbé: “The Netherlands has more than 57,000 web shops, 82 percent of which are sole proprietorships. These are for the most part people with a job next door, who do the web shop on the side. They go home after their regular work, then have to process their orders and drive to a delivery point the next day. A lot of hassle and so there is at least two days between ordering and receiving. That’s over now. “
24 hour sections
To facilitate the collaboration, 24-hour sections are set up, initially in four locations: Utrecht-South, The Hague-Northeast, Amsterdam-South and Arnhem. Web shop owners can scan their parcels themselves via a so-called scan & go kiosk and prepare them for PostNL drivers. Stubbé: “All web shop owners can use this, whether they are tenants with us or not. However, everyone will be registered, with a view to safety of course. When a webshop continues to grow and it becomes too laborious to process all orders themselves, they can easily pass on as a customer of PostNL E-commerce Services. “
Commercial Director Logistics Solutions Dimitri Wams of PostNL is also pleased with the collaboration. “It is fantastic that we can offer web shop owners a fulfillment solution on location and also add 34 PostNL points to our network just before the start of the busy holiday season. With 3,750 locations in the Netherlands by the end of 2020, there is a PostNL point nearby for every sender and receiver. “
Web shops that want to participate in the pilot can register for this via the Allsafe website: http://www.allsafe.nl/webshops.
