Harry Brouwer (62) will leave Unilever after 38 years on 1 January 2021. Brouwer has worked for both the consumer division and – for the last 6 years – Unilever’s food service business in a variety of national and international roles, from the Netherlands and from many other countries such as Hong Kong, USA and Germany.
After the integration of the various operating companies within Unilever – such as Iglo Mora, Lever Faberge, Unilever Bestfoods – in 2005 he became CEO of the newly created Unilever Benelux. In the period 2009-2014 he was chairman of Unilever DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and gave this organization new competitive strength. Most recently, Brouwer fulfilled the role of CEO of Unilever Food Solutions, the global business to business organization for food service in 77 countries.
Hanneke Faber, President Foods & Refreshment: ‘Harry has a strong track record of growth, strong customer focus, speed and agility. He has also contributed greatly to talent development within Unilever, through the many people and teams he has guided and developed over the years. ‘
Harry Brouwer will succeed Star Chen. Chen brings years of international Unilever experience in positions such as Customer Development, Digital, General Management and Foodservice. Chen will continue to lead Unilever’s important food service division from the Foods & Refreshment headquarters in Rotterdam.
