In the first nine months of 2020, Intershop achieved an increase in sales from 23.4 million euros to 24.3 million euros. The background to this is a plus in software and cloud sales, while service sales have shrunk. In terms of results, there is a leap into the black: On an EBITDA basis, the Jena-based company reports a profit of 3.2 million euros after a loss of 1.5 million euros in the same period of the previous year. The pre-tax result improved by more than 5.2 million euros to a profit of 0.5 million euros. The bottom line is that Intershop posted a profit of EUR 0.03 per share after nine months of 2020 compared to a loss of EUR 0.37 in the same period of the previous year. The cash flow from current business activities has been improved by more than 5 million euros and is in positive territory at 3.4 million euros.
“In the last few months, we have been able to record dynamic growth in the cloud area in particular, and our recurring revenues now amount to more than a third of our total sales. This gives our business model more stability and planning security, ”says Jochen Wiechen, CEO of Intershop Communications AG.
Intershop is sticking to the forecast for 2020. Sales should increase slightly, according to the software company. “With a slight improvement in gross profit and gross margin, a slightly positive operating result (EBIT) is also expected,” the Jena-based company also announced.
