Best Burger Benelux continues

There are two categories with five participants each: meat-based and plant-based. The candidates are given half an hour to serve five of the same burgers to the jury led by Pierre Wind. Citizens are judged on the interplay of flavors, creativity, originality, appearance, serving and presentation, says Misset Horeca.

Civil struggle
“Catering entrepreneurs who distinguish themselves deserve a podium, especially now. And we are happy to give that podium, “explains initiator Bart Mentink of LA Streetfood, who is organizing the civil struggle together with MECC Maastricht. After a rigorous selection of independent secret guests at Dutch and Belgian catering companies, ten candidates remain. Mentink: “The level is really high.”

Of the ten participants in The Best Burger Benelux, seven come from the Netherlands and three from Belgium. After national rounds by an expert mystery guests are nominated:

Plant based:

* Vitam Catering Bovag, Bunnink
* Rococo, Velsen South
* Pistache Streetfood, Valkenburg
* Dr. Plant, Leeuwarden
* De Daltons, Voorthuizen

Meat based:

* La Chapelle, Genk
* The Spanish House, Tervuren
* Ter Marsch & Co, Amsterdam
* Socal Kitchen, Wevelgem
* My Sister, Drachten

The jury will include Pierre Wind (Chair), Alexandra Dirand (Ballymaloe Export Manager), Kevin Ross (Ellis Gourmet Burgers), Ron Simpson (Avocado Show) and Yossi Eliyahoo (The Entourage Group).
