The optician chain Fielmann sees opportunities to achieve better numbers this year than previously forecast. The Hamburg company announced that the prerequisite was that there were no further restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic during the course of the year. In this case, “the previously forecast expectations for the year as a whole could be exceeded,” said Fielmann.
The Hanseatic League name a group turnover of more than 1.4 billion euros and a pre-tax profit of more than 140 million euros as the target. According to the company, they are “confident that they will emerge stronger from the crisis”.
According to preliminary estimates, sales of 420 million euros were achieved in the third quarter of 2020, which is ending today, around 20 million euros more than in the same quarter of the previous year. Before taxes, the quarterly profit should have increased from 78.5 million euros to around 80 million euros, according to Fielmann’s estimate. “Thanks to the consistent application of scientifically sound hygiene standards, our business development continued to recover in the third quarter of 2020,” the company said.
