In the first half of the year, sales at Homann Holzwerkstoffe fell from 140.2 million euros to 117.4 million euros. The adjusted operating EBITDA decreased from 24.8 million euros to 19.8 million euros. The margin fell from 17.7 percent to 17.0 percent. Fritz Homann, Managing Director of Homann: “All in all, we got through the difficult months of the crisis well. With the exception of April and May, all plants in the group are well utilized. The months of July and August were significantly stronger than planned, both in terms of sales and earnings. “
After a good start into the third quarter, Homann is quite optimistic that it will be able to almost compensate for the sales losses from the first six months. In 2020, EBITDA should be at the level of the 2019 figures. In 2019, Homann had sales of 273.8 million euros and an EBITDA of 47.1 million euros.
At the end of April, Homann expected EBITDA for 2020 to match the 2018 figures, which would have been 39.4 million euros.
