Most households have not suffered any financial losses in the past six months as a result of the Corona crisis. This is shown by a Frankfurt study. 83 percent of those questioned said their income had stayed the same or had improved.

D.Most households in Germany have not suffered any financial losses in the past six months as a result of the Corona crisis. This is the result of the most recent survey on the “Household Crisis Barometer” by the Leibniz Institute for Financial Market Research at Goethe University Frankfurt and the Nielsen market research institute.

Of the 10,800 participants surveyed at the beginning of September, 83 percent said their income had remained the same or had even improved. Ten percent reported losses of up to 20 percent; seven percent have suffered even greater losses.

According to finance professor Roman Inderst, households that have to get by on less money have been in this position since the end of March. Income in the sectors of trade, transport, hospitality, art, entertainment and recreation, as well as manufacturing, handicrafts and construction developed worse than average: here, 30 percent of households each suffered losses.
