Osram: Business is not going as badly as feared

Osram is raising its forecast for the fiscal year ending in 2020. One now expects a comparable drop in sales of around -14 percent (previously -15 to -19 percent), an adjusted EBITDA margin of around 8 percent (previously: 3 to 6 percent) and a roughly balanced free cash flow (previously: negative free cash flow in the mid double-digit to low triple-digit million range) ”, announced the company.

The background to the business development, which is not as bad as feared, is the trend in the Opto Semiconductors and Automotive divisions. Both of Osram’s activities can benefit from an improved business situation in the core markets of China and the USA. “The consistent implementation of countermeasures in the COVID-19 pandemic also continue to make an important contribution to stabilizing earnings and free cash flow,” the company said on Wednesday.
