Siemens Energy wants to dress up for the stock market – Apple and Epic Games continue to argue

At the end of September, the DAX® group Siemens wants to list its energy business called Siemens Energy on the stock exchange. Until then, however, there is still some homework to be done, because the company has been in the red in the past financial year. The US technology group Apple may not deny the game developer Epic Games access to its tools. The dispute between the corporations goes into the next round.

First things first about Siemens Energy and Apple:

  • Siemens Energy aims to significantly increase profitability
  • Epic Games with partial success against Apple

Siemens wants to bring Siemens Energy to the stock exchange. The energy group, which also has a majority stake in the wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa, which is already listed in the MDAX®, is to become even more profitable – and additional savings are being examined.

According to the information, the focus is on the “Gas and Power” area, which includes the power plant business. Siemens Energy wants to save more than 300 million euros gross if possible. So far, the company had already planned savings of one billion euros by 2023.

According to Siemens Energie, the aim is to noticeably increase profitability in the coming years. While it was pro forma last year at 5.5 percent, the adjusted operating margin (Ebita) before special items should increase to 6.5 to 8.5 percent in the 2023 financial year. The fiscal year ends on September 30th.

Apple and Epic Games are arguing in court. It’s about the exclusion of the “Fortnite” makers from the software developer tools of the iPhone manufacturer. A California federal judge has now partially righted Epic Games. According to judge Yvonne Gonzalez, Apple Epic Games cannot deny this access. At the same time, however, it allowed the tech giant not to have to offer the Epic Games blockbuster “Fortnite” in its own app store for the time being.

Epic Games sued both Apple and Google on August 13th after both companies removed “Fortnite” from their app stores. The next hearing in the Apple-Epic Games case is scheduled for September 28th.
