The former vice-head of the Hugo Boss group, Jochen Holy, has died. Holy was 78 years old, the Holy Fashion Group announced on Thursday in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland.
Metzingen / Kreuzlingen – The fashion entrepreneur and former vice boss of the Hugo Boss group, Jochen Holy, is dead. He died on Tuesday at the age of 78, as the Holy Fashion Group announced on Thursday in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, upon request. In the clothing group, Holy was a member of the board of directors until the end. A spokeswoman said that at the request of the family, they could not and would not give more details about Holy’s death.
Jochen Holy was one of the grandchildren of Hugo Boss, who founded the family company of the same name in Metzingen in Swabia in 1923. Jochen Holy joined the company with his brother Uwe at the end of the 1960s – and made it big. With their flair for fashion, trends and colors, the brothers made the company one of the leading men’s outfitters – and also placed the Boss name on the international sports and advertising scene. Sales climbed steeply.
The Holy Brothers took the company public; they were the main shareholders at the time and also formed the board of directors. Jochen Holy acted as deputy chief executive officer from 1984 onwards. In 1993 the brothers withdrew from the group together, but they continued to work as fashion entrepreneurs.
