The temporary lockdown at all nine locations can be clearly seen in the figures from Erlebnis Akademie. In the first half of the year sales fell by 36.5 percent to 3.56 million euros. The EBIT deteriorates from -0.74 million euros to -2.46 million euros. The number of visitors is reduced by almost 44 percent. The company reports a record attendance for July. The number of visitors increased by 14.3 percent compared to the previous year.
CFO Christoph Blaß on the figures: “Most of the business in the second quarter of 2020 only took place in June. Since we missed important public holidays and the Easter break due to the closure in April and May, we can be satisfied with the result and were better than expected when the locations were closed. ”To ensure liquidity, many employees were on short-time work. The management board has waived part of the salary and half of the bonuses from 2019. The company listed in m: access did not resort to state aid loans.
Work at the new locations continues despite the pandemic. The opening is planned on Usedom in April 2021, and the treetop path in Alsace is to open in May 2021.
For the year as a whole, Erlebnis Akademie expects a positive operating result. The forecast can probably be refined with the figures for the third quarter.
