In the second quarter Akasol improves sales from 10.15 million euros to 10.22 million euros. In the first half of the year there was a decrease from 19.22 million euros to 18.24 million euros. The EBIT drops from -0.1 million euros to -4.5 million euros. That misses the original expectations of the company’s management. For the first half of the year Akasol reports an EBIT of -6.95 million euros, in the previous year the EBIT was -0.03 million euros. The half-year loss is 7.13 million euros (previous year: -0.06 million euros).
Akasol CEO Sven Schulz is optimistic about the second half of the year: “Both our customers and we see clear signs that we will be able to make up for unrealized sales from the first half of the year, not least because of the punctual and scheduled roll-out the second series battery system generation is supported. ”
For the year as a whole, the company is anticipating sales of EUR 60 million to EUR 70 million. In 2019 it was 47.65 million euros. The prerequisite is that business will pick up in the second half of the year. The EBIT margin should be positive in the second half of the year.
