The massive gold discovery Hemi in the Australian region of Pilbara has De Gray Mining (WKN 633879 / ASX DEG) has already catapulted into the premier league of exploration companies – at least in Australia – and set the course to unprecedented heights! The latest results also indicate that the end of the flagpole is still a long way off
The Hemi gold system now extends for 2.5 kilometers from north to south and 2 kilometers from west to east, so far De Gray has defined three main mineralized zones called Aquila, Brolga and Crow, and the largest of these zones, Brolga that was first discovered could now be expanded once more.
De Gray is conducting and conducting aircore drilling to the east of the zone to expand Brolga, encountering near-surface mineralization approximately 320 meters east of Brolga. Exciting: The mineralization is along a structural trend towards another well-known intrusion target (such as Hemi is) called Scooby, another 1 kilometer to the northeast!
De Gray stated the highlights of these drill holes as 1.4 g / t gold over 17 meters from a depth of 64 meters and 3.3 g / t gold over 4 meters from a depth of 44 meters,
At the same time, the company is doing what is known as RC (backwash) drilling to test a possible extension of the Brolga mineralization to the north, northeast and southwest. Here, too, they were successful and could prove further gold mineralization near the surface. The best results were:
(in the north of Brolga)
– 40m with 2.0g / t Au from 36m, 30m with 1.6 g / t Au from 101m,
– 5m with 2.8 g / t Au from 142m
– 7m with 3.9 g / t Au from 53m and
– 12m with 2.9 g / t Au from 36m
(in the northeast of Brolga)
– 21m with 1.0 g / t Au from 50m
(in the southwest of Brolga)
– 9m with 2.2 g / t Au from 59m
– 3m with 10 g / t Au from 152m
De Gray is also carrying out further RC drilling in the west of the Aquila Zone,
In addition, De Gray is also drilling diamond core holes at Brolga, among other things to extract samples for metallurgical variance and for optimization tests. This involved drilling holes in oxide and transition ore as well as in areas of moist rock. The results of the metallurgical drilling also provide further evidence of the internal continuity of the Brolga mineralization,
The highlights were:
– 62.0m with 2.2g / t gold from 47.0m, 19.8m with 1.8g / t gold from 117.0m, 13.0m with 2.1g / t gold from 151m and 15.8m with 0, 9 g / t gold from 170.2m,
– 12.1m with 1.0g / t gold from 43.8m,
– 1.6m with 1.9g / t gold from 69.7m, 4.3m with 2.8g / t gold from 96.0m and 3.2m with 8.0g / t gold from 106.3m,
– 4.4m with 1.2g / t gold from 88.7m, 0.9m with 3.3g / t gold from 110.1m, 4.0m with 0.8g / t gold from 129.0m and 23.2m with 2.8g / t gold from 139.9m
– 36m with 1.2g / t gold from 74m, 13m with 1.8g / t gold from 157m, 18.4m with 0.9g / t gold from 220m and 10.35m with 2.1g / t gold from 333m.
De Gray Managing Director Glenn Jardine reiterated De Gray’s drilling strategy, stating that the combination of the various drilling rigs at Hemi would allow the company to discover near surface mineralization expansions with aircore drilling, with RC drilling the familiar one Expand mineralization and then diamond drill to test the depth extension. According to Jardine, they are working towards the strategic goal of making Hemi a so-called Tier 1 deposit, i.e. a gold deposit of world-class format – and demonstrating further potential in the area!
