[NMW] Kirsten Jassies: ‘I will update you all about Instagram’

Nima Marketing Week takes place from 1 to 3 September in DeFabrique in Utrecht. Go here for more information and tickets. Kirsten Jassies will speak on Wednesday 2 September at 10:00 am in the Smederij.

What is the latest news at Just K?

My workbook will arrive in September Entry-proof out, with 15 assignments that will help you achieve a successful Instagram strategy. I am also working on my third book about kick ass content for social media, to be released in the spring of 2021.

What marketing challenge is Just K facing right now?

I am ambivalent about advertising because I believe in the power of storytelling on social media and online. Moreover, I often perform on stages and I get interviews in the media, so I don’t think I really need advertising. But I know and see that it works to reach a new target group or people with the same profiles with advertising. That’s why I would do my workouts, coachings and want to promote books through advertisements. Someone should take that off my hands, because I think Facebook business manager really a horror tool. Too many choices and you really have to put in a lot of time if you want to understand whether what you are doing is the right thing. I would like to make the expressions myself, my face is important here.

Nima Marketing Week takes place both live and online this year. What do you think of this setup?

It is a smart move to offer the event online and offline, which has been happening in the United States for a long time. In this day and age it is badly needed, because there are many uncertainties. I think the disadvantage is that it feels more casual, that you have less attention during an online session than in a room. In addition, as a speaker, a stage with real people in the room is not only more fun, but you can also better gauge people in the room and adjust your story accordingly.

Why are visitors wise to come to your talk?

I will update you completely in the field of Instagram and influencer marketing and what you should pay attention as a company if you want to grow with this marketing tools in 2020. How and for what purpose you can add new features like Insta shopping, reels and augmented reality can bet. But also choosing and working with influencers and attaching value to this. I am known for my information proximity is very high, so watch out is required.

What other talk would you like to recommend and why?

I would like to go to Meltwater’s talk, a tool for PR and marketing, about making decisions based on external data. I see that in my field the explorers of tools like Meltwater have a lot of insight into the success of their customers based on data. Unfortunately, as a trainer I don’t have enough of that and that is why I hope that they provide valuable tips and examples. At the same time, there is the Traffic Builders session about a sustainable customer journey, which I really don’t want to miss. The customer journey is ignored or misunderstood at many small companies, which is a shame, because you desperately need this insight from your target group to be able to deliver the right content at the right times, in the right place.

How long do you linger on the drink afterwards?

I always have a drink and like to chat with others about the wonderfully interesting landscape in which we all operate.
