Elon Musk: “Please mine more nickel”

Green energy is on the rise. Electric vehicles or wind turbines, the energy transition urgently needs raw materials.

One of the main components for its batteries is nickel. And Elon Musk knows what he’s talking about, more nickel, more batteries, more electric cars, more profit for him. Under the name “Roadrunner”, Tesla has developed a new, low-cost battery that is supposed to bring e-cars up to the price of petrol engines. And that requires a lot of nickel.

This raw material, for example, is owned by Canada Nickel Company – – in their projects. The cobalt that is so important for electromobility is also available there. In particular, the Nickel Cobalt Palladium project from Canada Nickel in Ontario is one of the largest of its kind and has the best infrastructure.

Not only nickel, but also copper is important for the advancing electromobility. Because every electric vehicle contains around 60 kilograms more copper than in a conventional vehicle. The experts from the Vontobel analysis house see an increasing demand for battery raw materials such as nickel, cobalt and copper, especially in the event of a possible victory for Trump challenger Joe Bieden.

Has copper Hannan Metals – – in his San Martin mine next to silver in Peru in the ground. The high-grade copper-silver system could thus bring profits as a lucrative project, also for investors.
