[NMW] Jortijn Bijl: “Labor market communication is more important than ever”

What marketing challenge does Afas currently face and what role do you play in this?

We see opportunities especially in the field of new business. We’ve determined that what we do now needs to contribute more than ever to generating quality leads. In concrete terms, this means that we have critically reviewed the 2020 annual plans and, above all, removed the crazy excesses. We have continued or realized in another form all activities that contribute to our company. Think of moving physical events to webinars to setting up a new campaign to work on our substantive brand awareness.

My role in this is to set up campaigns of, for example, online marketing, events and customer success, and also to determine a good strategy with sales and human resources to enable organizations to do business better.

NMW will take place both live and online this year. What do you think of this setup?

Cool. I find it exciting to involve both the physical and online audience in my presentation. I believe that people should be able to take information in the way that they find most comfortable.

Why are visitors wise to come to your talk?

The strength of a brand and organization lies in the people who work there. A customer or applicant immediately feels whether the contact with your company is genuine. Finding and retaining the right talent is therefore more important than ever and labor market communication plays a major role in this. In my session I show how we achieve this at Afas, together with HR, and how we turn our employees into fans.

What other talk would you recommend?

That of Marieke Graat from To Good To Go. Certainly at a time when we are consuming at home more than ever and the risk of waste is just around the corner, I think it would be interesting to learn how her brand knows the awareness of a more sustainable world in the minds of consumers, but also entrepreneurs. to get.

How long do you stay on the drink afterwards?

It depends on the energy I still have. During a presentation I try to give everything, but it also gives me energy, so it may just be that afterwards a few spa reds and cola will be consumed.
