Nasdaq 100 – Before the key rate decision

It is a hot dance on the volcano that the Nasdaq-100® Index is currently performing. The tension rises before today’s Fed key rate decision. Who prevails, bulls or bears? So far, the exit is open.

The bulls have recently rebounded from support at 10,307 points. However, the index has not yet regained the 10,780 point mark. Only if this feat of strength were successful would the way be clear for a test of the all-time high at 11,069 points.

Everything on the bottom remains the same: If support breaks at 10,307 points, a continuation of the downward wave into four digits would be expected. A full correction could even lead the index back towards the EMA200 at a good 9,000 points. However, between 10,155 and 9,950 points there are a number of supports that could initially prevent this. The 9,737 point mark has also proven to be an important support.

In addition to the quarterly figures of the index heavyweights Apple, Alphabet, Amazon and Facebook, all of which report on Thursday after the market closes, today’s key rate decision should also cause price fluctuations. Traders should be prepared for increased volatility and increased gap risk for Friday.
