Intershop Communications released figures for the first half of 2020 on Thursday. The software company from Jena reports a sales increase from 15.2 million euros to 16.5 million euros. Before interest and taxes, the company was able to improve its operating result by 4.3 million euros and generate a profit of 0.5 million euros. “The profitable start to the year continued in the second quarter with a positive result,” said Intershop.
Intershop reports an increase in cloud and subscription sales from EUR 3.0 million to EUR 3.5 million in the first half of the year. When it comes to cloud orders, the company reports an increase from 4.3 million euros to 7.4 million euros, and the annual recurring revenues have been increased from 6.2 million euros to 7.5 million euros.
One is satisfied with the development, says Intershop boss Jochen Wiechen. “We are currently experiencing a crisis-related reassessment of the digital strategies of many market participants. While some are already taking advantage of the opportunities in the crisis and expanding their digital sales, other companies are seeing that they must now expand their traditional sales channels more quickly than planned so as not to lose out on the competition, ”says the manager.
The forecast for 2020 is confirmed. Intershop continues to expect a slight increase in group sales, and is also anticipating a slight improvement in gross profit and gross margin with a slightly positive EBIT.
