The tool retailer Würth takes a lot of money for logistics in hand. The new central trading point is to become the hub for European goods handling.
Kupferzell – The tool trading group Würth concentrates its logistics not far from the headquarters in Kupferzell (Hohenlohekreis). Around 73 million euros were invested in the warehouse and the conversion of the shipping, as the company announced on Thursday. Various shipping points and satellite warehouses were thus combined. The new central office has been the hub for European goods handling since May. Once completed, 300 employees will work there.
The company’s headquarters are located in Künzelsau. From January to the end of June, the group generated around 6.9 billion euros worldwide. That was 3.1 percent less than in the first half of 2019. Profit from operating business slipped by around 18 percent to 280 million euros.
