The contenders for the “ABN Amro Newcomer Retail Award 2020 – 2021” are known! Three newcomers to Dutch retail have a chance to win this jury prize. The nominees: “Holy Moly Pizza”, the Japanese mini department store “Nishi” and the new “Lego stores” in Amsterdam and Utrecht.
Store concepts that have been active on the Dutch market for less than three years are eligible for a nomination. Twelve newcomers have been selected by the jury and assessed on aspects such as innovation, scalability and originality. Based on this, three newcomers were nominated by six jury members: Henk Hofstede (Sector Banker Retail Commercial Clients, ABN Amro), Linda Keijzer (CEO Xenos), Debbie Klein (CEO Leen Bakker), Peter van Woensel Kooy Marketing Stand), Eric Habraken (manager Foodservice & Retail, Hutten and De Verspillingsfabriek) and Francella ter Haar (business consultant Retail, Q&A).
Distribution in September
The nominees can present themselves by means of a video pitch during the Retail Outlook event on 21, 22 and 23 September. The winner is determined by 50% votes from the public and 50% jury votes. Tickets for this (digital) event can be ordered at www.retailoutlook.com/event. The ceremony will be broadcast in due course (streaming video) in collaboration with Marketing Stand.
