The Australian graphite company EcoGraf (WKN A1C8BX / ASX EGR) has made tremendous progress recently on their project in Kwinana, Western Australia. A plant is planned there to process natural graphite into spherical graphite for the production of lithium-ion batteries using a novel, environmentally friendly process that has been registered for a patent.
In the end, it was not only possible to secure a source for the raw material, but also to announce with ThyssenKrupp a purchase partner for 50% of the production planned in Kwinana’s “Lithium Valley”.
