It is one of the financial markets in which only a few fintech companies are bustling: old-age provision. While there are already larger digital players in banking with N26 and Revolut, with Robo-Advisorn Scalable Personal-Financial.com or with interest portals, only a few startups with special products dare to save for old age.

After all, it is easier to convince a user with online advertising to get an account with a fancy banking app than, for example, a Riester pension. A founder who has been in the market for years reports of the difficult marketing. After all, his start-up would have almost completely foregone online advertising and, above all, would have recommended referral bonuses.

With the launch of Rente.de, an important German player now dares to enter the online segment. The financial group Wüstenrot & Württembergische, which sells, for example, building society contracts and insurance, started the beta test of Rente.de with its digital subsidiary Brandpool a few weeks ago. This phase has apparently ended recently – and the app is starting (the iOS app is to come shortly).
