Basler presented an increased forecast for the first half of the current year on Tuesday. If the company had previously anticipated sales of EUR 78 million for the first half of 2020, EUR 86 million to EUR 88 million are now forecast. The sales development also has an impact on the profit margin before taxes, which is now set at 12 percent to 13 percent higher than with previously forecast 9 percent to 10 percent.
“This very positive development is due to the continued strong demand from the semiconductor / electronics, medical technology and logistics sectors. In addition, Covid19-related risks in the supply chain and in production have so far been successfully averted by the company, ”Basler said.
With regard to the still existing uncertainties in the course of the Corona pandemic, Basler still does not issue a new forecast for the whole of 2020. This should only happen with the publication of the semi-annual report on August 6, 2020. However, for seasonal reasons, lower demand from customers in the semiconductor and electronics application fields is expected for the second half of the year.
