(pj) Defend your branch, the sanitary installation. Defend your corporation, crafts. This was the lifeline of Paul Reckinger who passed away on May 26 at the age of 83. At the national level, man will have made his contribution, in particular, in the construction of the Luxembourg Business Union in 2000. He was then president of the Chamber of Trades.

Young boss of the company Reckinger Alfred S.A., Paul Reckinger wanted to get involved in the various craft organizations in Luxembourg but also in Europe. Thus, from 1966, his name was found in the registers of the board of directors of Federations of Sanitary Installers and Heating and Air Conditioning Installers. An organization which he took over in 1992.

A voice heard all over Europe

The following year, he joined the committee of the Federation of Craftsmen where he represented the technical engineering trades. A federation now led by his son, Michel. Over time, we will also find him at the presidency of the Chamber of Trades. Organization for which he assumed responsibility for a full decade between 1997 and 2007.

On the European level, the engineer and master installer by training also took control of the association ” International Climate Engineering Which brings together the national professional associations of technical engineering. The flagship initiative of his presidency was then to bring together the different trades of technical engineering within the same organization.

In 2002 Paul Reckinger became president of theUEAPME (European Union of Crafts and SMEs), which has become SME United thereafter, and which is the representative social partner for crafts and SMEs in Europe.
