The grand coalition settled the dispute over a distance rule when expanding wind energy. In future, it will be decided at the state level whether newly built wind turbines must be at a distance of up to 1000 meters from residential buildings – and which forms of settlement this applies to.

Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier was confident that the agreement will decisively advance the decisions made in October 2019 in the coalition committee to accelerate the expansion of renewable energies within the framework of the corresponding EEG law – good news for PNE. The group is the developer of wind farms on land and at sea. The company also operates its own wind farms with an installed nominal output of 130.1 megawatts (MW). The portfolio is to be expanded to up to 500 MW, especially in Germany, by the end of 2023.

After a successful start to the new financial year, the management board is cautiously optimistic about the year as a whole despite the Corona crisis.
