Mali: insurance companies pour 100 million into special covid-19 fund

The Minister responsible for the Budget, Mrs. Barry Aoua SYLLA received, Wednesday, from the hands of the president of the association of insurance companies of Mali, Mr. DOYE, a check of 100 million FCFA as support for the government in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences in Mali.

The check will be deposited in the “Covid-19 Fund” account opened on the books of the Malian Solidarity Bank (BMS-sa) to collect donations from generous donors who manifest themselves, following the call for national and international solidarity. launched by the highest authorities in Mali as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences in Mali.

As of today, Mali has registered 35 new positive cases of people with coronavirus and 16 cured patients and 03 deaths. This brings the total number of Covid-19 positive cases in the country to 293. All the communes of Bamako have registered cases.

They are distributed as follows: in commune I (03 cases); commune II (01 case); commune III (01 case); commune IV (05 cases); commune V (03 case); commune VI (08 cases); Kalabancoro (01 case); and Kati (03 cases). In Gao and Kidal, Minusma recorded 07 and 05 positive cases, respectively. Note that in total, Mali has a total of 73 cases of recovery and 17 deaths from Covid-19 in Mali, including 07 in the patient care services.
